The Digital Twin

KNX has always been able to use IP networks to communicate between devices or between servers and clients using the KNXnet/IP protocol. However, KNX IoT takes this a step further by significantly increasing interoperability at the IP level, making it easier for software developers to work with, and adding new physical layers that are in demand on the market (such as mesh networks). In this new environment, the KNX IoT 3rd Party API is a secure, reliable way to create a data-driven infrastructure for home and building automation installations.

With KNX IoT, all the parties involved in the product lifecycle – including manufacturers, developers, and system integrators – can benefit from an improved approach to manufacturing, development, and integration. In short, KNX IoT makes it easier and more efficient to work with home and building automation systems.
