OFFSHORE WIND ENERGY DATA SPACE BASED ON IDS ARCHITECTURE

Powered by: International Data Spaces Association
Clients: ATTEN2 / ENGIE
Companies Involved: IDSA/ TEKNIKER /TECNALIA /VUB-OWI Lab /SOVITY

Wind turbines produce data, but only wind farm owners and wind turbine OEMs have access to this data. Other players in the energy value chain do not benefit from the value of this data.
This testbed demonstrates how the adoption of the IDS architecture is enabling data sharing along the energy supply chain. Sensor data (Atten2) from wind turbines and data from the SCADA system of the wind farm owner (Engie) are shared with technology and component suppliers (Tecnalia, Tekniker, VUB) via the testbed.
The testbed is based on the Energy Data Space developed by the PLATOON project. PLATOON defined a common reference architecture, APIs and semantic data models.
The Energy Data Space is based on open standards such as IDS, FIWARE, SAREF, CIM, etc. which ensure data interoperability and trust among all parties and, thereby, allows new business models for the sustainable provision and commercialization of data.
