China to be Country Partner of the IOTSWC, thanks to agreement with EUPIC and Wuxi Government

“EUPIC has chosen to become the Country Partner of the IOTSWC, a decision based on the deep friendship and high level of mutual trust that we have both built over a long period of time. Starting in 2019, EUPIC serves as an official ambassador of the IOTSWC every year, dedicated to bringing the glamour of the IOTSWC to China. In early 2023, we successfully led a Wuxi government delegation to visit the IOTSWC, and at the end of last year, we successfully promoted the “Sister Expos” between the Wuxi World IoT Expo and the IOTSWC. These achievements were made possible by the joint efforts and mutual support of both organisations, and are a testament to the fruitfulness and potential of our cooperation. This year, with the strong support of the Wuxi government, we will continue to work together to bring the latest IoT technology from Wuxi to the Congress to showcase and share the latest advances in the field with our global counterparts.

As a bridge of innovation and cooperation between EU and China, EUPIC has always been committed to promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in the fields of science and technology, industry and culture. Becoming the country partner of IOTSWC will help EUPIC to better understand the development trend and market demand of the IoT industry in Spain and the world, and provide more solid support for its project promotion and cooperation in China. Meanwhile, for IOTSWC, this cooperation will also bring more opportunities in

China and accelerate the transformation and application of Sino-European innovations.

In the future, as an ambassador and Country Partner of IOTSWC, we look forward to inviting more companies from more cities in China to participate, to jointly promote the innovation and application of IoT technology, and to make more contributions to the prosperity of the IoT industry.”

Segree Dai, President of EUPIC

  • Why is this partnership agreement significant for promoting technological innovation and disruption globally?

First, China is one of the largest IoT markets in the world, with a large consumer base and rich application scenarios. Spain, on the other hand, has advanced technological R&D capabilities and rich practical experience in IoT. Cooperation between the two countries can make full use of their respective advantages, and promote the innovation and application of IoT technology.

Second, cooperation between China and Spain in this field is complementary. Chinese companies have advantages in IoT equipment manufacturing and system integration, while Spanish companies have expertise in providing IoT solutions. Cooperation between the two sides can facilitate technology exchange and knowledge sharing, and promote innovation and development in their respective fields.

Finally, our country partnership will also help raise the status and influence of both countries in the global IoT industry. As the collaboration progresses, IoT companies in both countries will be able to develop more competitive products and services to deliver better experiences and services to users around the world. At the same time, this partnership will also help promote the healthy development of the global IoT industry and drive innovation and progress in the industry as a whole.

  •  In what ways do you foresee this collaboration fostering mutual economic growth and advancement?

IoT cooperation between China and Spain will undoubtedly inject new momentum into trade and investment flows between the two countries. Such cooperation not only covers a wide range of areas, such as equipment, solutions and services, but also promotes technology exchange and market sharing between the two sides, thus increasing the export revenue and economic growth momentum of both countries.

As cooperation deepens, the relevant industrial chain will be further extended and improved. This will create more employment opportunities for the two countries, including R&D, production, sales, service and other links.

In addition, such cooperation will promote industrial upgrading and innovative development in both countries. The application of IoT technology will facilitate the emergence of new technologies and products, and promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries towards intelligence and networking. This will stimulate the innovation vitality of enterprises in both countries, promote the innovation and development of both sides in their respective fields, and inject new impetus into the high-quality development of the two economies.

It is worth mentioning that the application of IoT technology is also of great importance in promoting sustainable development. By improving resource efficiency, reducing energy consumption and cutting waste emissions, IoT technology can help achieve China’s goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality, which is also in line with Spain’s 2030 carbon reduction target. Therefore, IoT cooperation between China and Spain will strongly support the achievement of the SDGs and promote green development in both countries and globally.

  • What are the key challenges and opportunities that you anticipate encountering as we work together to drive innovation and address evolving technological landscapes?

First and foremost, technological innovation and standardisation will be one of the key challenges for cooperation. The rapid development of IoT technology has opened up many opportunities for innovation, but it also brings with it the challenge of achieving consistent technical standards. In order to ensure seamless interoperability between different devices and systems, it is imperative that both sides work together to advance the standardisation process of IoT technology and promote uniformity and compatibility in technical specifications.

At the same time, such cooperation will bring many benefits. One of the most important benefits is the expansion of the market size, which provides additional business opportunities for enterprises on both sides. China and Spain, as major players in the IoT market, will benefit from each other’s development and market expansion, which will lead to more business prospects for their respective enterprises.

In addition, technological innovation will be a catalyst for industrial upgrading and transformation. The application of IoT technology will facilitate the evolution of traditional industries towards intelligence and networking, and drive industrial upgrading and transformation. Cooperation between the two countries will accelerate this process and create new growth opportunities for both industrial sectors.

It will also promote talent cultivation and exchange. The IoT sector requires the support of a large pool of professionals, and by strengthening cooperation in talent development, education and training, both sides can jointly cultivate professionals with innovative capabilities and practical experience.

  • Could you provide insight into what your organization will showcase at the event and why attendees shouldn’t miss visiting the Chinese pavilion?

For this exhibition at the Wuxi Pavilion, we have curated a showcase featuring leading enterprises from Wuxi, highlighting their cutting-edge IoT technologies, including sensor technology and cloud computing. Our aim is to provide visitors with a glimpse into the diverse applications of IoT in areas such as smart homes, smart cities, and industrial manufacturing, and to demonstrate the remarkable benefits IoT brings.
