Tampere, Finland is one of the leading smart cities in the world, with multiple live digital transformation projects including an autonomous shuttle bus, smart street lighting as well as a new citywide Data-Driven City for Citizens program.
An early adopter of many advanced technologies, the projects are a shining example of how to embrace new technologies and how to transform technology by using assets they already have. Now, the city’s vision is to combine local datasets – on the environment, transport, healthcare, public services, and more – to develop and offer better services to its citizens and city authorities alike. This session will explore how the city of Tampere is building a private 5G network to enable the use, transfer and sharing of massive amounts of data, opening new possibilities to address these needs.
