The EU's GDPR puts the spotlight on the topic of personal data, and individuals are concerned about big tech companies monetizing their data and privacy. Businesses struggle with regulations like these. On the one hand they collect and use tremendous amounts of personal data for delivering services we all want, while also trying to comply with GDPR's requirements. During this fireside chat we explore how enterprises are trying to marry conflicting goals regarding data collection with individual desire for privacy and control. We specifically focus on blockchain technologies and the privacy challenges these bring with them. But we also discuss what options blockchain technologies may offer actually help complying with privacy rules like the GDPR.
