Biography

Maria Araujo is an Engineering Fellow, Director Sensing and IoT at Johnson & Johnson, focused on advanced technology scouting, development, and scaling. Areas of focus include end-to-end visibility track & trace, robotics and automation. Maria holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in electrical engineering from UCLA. She is the recipient of an R&D 100 Award and was named one of San Antonio’s Top 40 Under 40 by the San Antonio B

This has largely driven by the need for enhanced quality and reliability in warehouse operations, investments in automation technologies, an aging workforce demographic, and the rapidly growing e-commerce industry. Robotic piece picking is central to addressing the increasing flexibility needed in e-commerce and sudden supply chain disruption demands. In this presentation, Maria will discuss how J&J is leveraging advanced computer vision, machine learning and collaborative robotics to address this growing need.
