WORLD TELECOMMUNICATION & INFORMATION SOCIETY DAY

“Digital technologies for  Healthy Ageing”

On the occasion of  WTISD -which this year focuses its attention on the role that telecommunications and information and communication technologies (ICT) must play in ensuring healthy ageing-, the Catalan Association of Telecommunications Engineering and Digital Technologies (Telecos.cat) and  the Official College of Computer Engineering of Catalonia (COEINF) organizes this event framed within the activities of the International Union of Telecommunications (ITU) to celebrate this anniversary.

Given that the demographic trend that will characterize the 21st century will be the ageing of the world population (for the first time in the history of humanity the over-60s exceed those under 5), we cannot miss the opportunity to raise awareness about the important role those digital technologies play in helping people stay healthy, connected, and independent both physically, emotionally and financially– to a life of healthy ageing – and as critical for the sustainability of economic and health systems (more information in the following video).

We will do so with a panel of top experts with whom we will have the opportunity to discuss and exchange views.
