China will be the guest country at the IOT Solutions World Congress 2024

China will be the guest country at the IOT Solutions World Congress (IOTSWC), the leading international event on industry transformation through disruptive technologies, which will take place from 21 to 23 May at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue. The Asian country will showcase its latest advances in sensor technology and cloud computing applied to homes, smart cities and industrial manufacturing processes at a stand with the participation of representatives from Chinese public administrations and companies.

The management of the event has signed a collaboration agreement with China through the municipal government and the EU Project Innovation Centre (EUPIC) in the city of Wuxi, a leader in the development of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the Asian country, with the aim that the Fira de Barcelona event will act as a platform to facilitate investment and cooperation between China and the European Union.

In this sense, the President of EUPIC Wuxi, Segree Dai, said that “cooperation between IOTSWC and China will promote the development of IoT technology, facilitating the exchange of technology and knowledge, as well as giving a new impetus to bilateral relations between our country and Spain”.

For his part, the director of IOTSWC, Marc Tarragó, said that “this alliance will give companies and professionals from China and Europe the opportunity to reach new markets, learn more about existing trends in Asia and the West and exchange ideas, solutions and experiences”.

The Wuxi delegation will comprise a total of ten companies, including Wuxi More Inno Technology, Wuxi ETEK Microelectronics, Jiangsu Yuncanglian Digital Technology, Wuxi Nervous Electric System, Wayzim Technology and Energy Intelligent Equipment, which manufacture everything from high-quality energy management chips to intelligent energy and environmental systems for domestic users, as well as smart distribution projects with intelligent vision systems and industrial sensors.

Wuxi, IoT capital of China
IOT Solutions World Congress also collaborates with Wuxi and the IoT technology event held in this Chinese city to seek synergies and explore new investment and business opportunities among its exhibitors. This Asian city has more than 3,000 companies linked to IoT which, according to data from the Chinese government, have generated revenues of more than 56,000 million dollars by 2022. Wuxi is also home to China’s only IoT cluster.

China is currently one of the largest IoT markets in the world, with a large number of equipment and system manufacturers and a large consumer market. According to official data, it will have 2.3 billion connected devices in 2023 with a year-on-year increase of 30%.

Organised by Fira de Barcelona, IOT Solutions World Congress will be held from 21 to 23 May at the Gran Via exhibition centre and is expected to bring together 12,000 visitors from over 100 countries, more than 400 exhibitors and a line-up of 250 speakers and experts who will participate in 125 congress sessions.
