A4Radar, Aramco, Bosch, Nederlandse Spoorwegen, KraussMaffei and Volvo Cars win the 2023 Industry Solutions Awards

The 2023 Industry Solutions Awards organized by IOT Solutions World Congress (IOTSWC) to recognize the most outstanding developments in the field of industry transformation went to Aramco, Bosch, HYBot, KraussMaffei, Advanced Algorithms 4 Radar, Nederlandse Spoorwegen and Volvo Cars. The Game Changer award went to Michael Grieves, Executive Director of the Digital Twin Institute and widely recognized as the father of the Digital Twin concept.

The largest international event devoted to industry transformation through disruptive technologies held until tomorrow in Barcelona announced the winners of its annual awards during a Gala held this afternoon at the Gran Via venue.

The best Connected Transport & Smart Vehicles solution award went to Volvo Cars for its Cars Developer Portal that shares the carmaker’s digital tools with 3rd party developers and partners enabling potential new growth through connected services. Transportation was also the focus of the award for best Smart Buildings & Smart Cities solution that Nederlandse Spoorwegen (Dutch Railways) for the 3D Digital Twin of Utrecht Central Station that has improved comfort and safety and is capable of detecting outages.

Saudi Aramco received the best Energy & utilities Solution for the HYBot, sensors capable of providing in situ reservoir sensing via wireless hydrogen sensors capable of improving recovery in fire flooded depleted hydrocarbon reservoirs. The Best Smart Manufacturing/Industry 4.0 solution went to KraussMaffei Technologies for its socialProduction family products for monitoring injection molding machines that thanks to its modular structure can be tailored to the precise needs of users in the field of plastic production and is an in-house developed solution based on a strategic cloud partner ecosystem.

The two final awards, Best Healthcare Solution and Best Cybersecurity Solution, were for the biosensing and eHealth Multipurpose Radar from Advanced Algorithms 4 Radar (A4Radar) capable of measuring vital signs without direct contact with the patient; and Bosch’s AI security solution capable of protecting AI systems from critical security threats and attacks thereby preventing financial loss, damage to brand reputation and Intellectual property theft.

Game changer of 2023
The last award, Game changer of the year, aims to honour an industry pioneer who has been a role model and a key for the promotion and implementation of technology solutions in vertical industries. In 2023 the award was for Michael Grieves, expert in Product Lifecycle Management, Executive Director and Chief Scientist at the Digital Twin Institute and widely recognized as the father of the Digital Twins concept after a conference he gave at the Society of Manufacturing Engineers in Michigan in 2002.

In its seventh edition, IOTSWC is gathering 330 exhibitors and 250 speakers to showcase and debate the latest technological solutions that provide an edge to companies across many industries.
