Equipment as a Service: More than A Theoretical Model

Equipment as a Service (EaaS) requires understanding and building the various components. During implementation, industrial companies need to address core elements of change, such as program enablement, financial structuring, asset management, technology, and risk solutions. The stakes are high. For that reason, a turnkey EaaS bundle becomes a stepping stone to driving long-term value and bringing theory into practice. Ultimately, managing potential challenges and adopting a unified EaaS approach across the organization leads to better chances for success. Learn how to better adapt to customer needs and react faster to market changes, drive value using the Equipment as a Service bundle approach, address business transformation challenges in an effective way, gain insights into a real-life use case of Equipment as a Service transformation and get tips & tricks to simplify your EaaS business model transformation.

Heinz Lux

CEO, KNX Association
The future of IoT in Home and Building Automation

This Keynote will feature KNX Association CEO, Heinz Lux, with a review of how a solid foundation guarantees a future-proof, secure and state-of-the-art technology. He will discuss how KNX now enables third-party services with KNX, which adds new business possibilities for manufacturers and professionals. He will also look forward to how KNX IoT will take advantage of an IP future, a more robust cloud, and progress in artificial intelligence (AI). As Mr Lux puts it, “The new KNX IoT technology perfectly adapts to these new scenarios and will help our community in developing and delivering future solutions based on trends such as AI, machine learning, or deep learning solutions based on KNX.

Since 2006 Heinz Lux has been responsible for the KNX Association which promotes the KNX protocol: The worldwide STANDARD for Home and Building Control.

Before that, he advised industry on their strategic projects concerning Home and Building Management & Control networks as an independent consultant. From 1990 to 2000 he was employed by Siemens in various positions related to home and building automation.

Under Data Review: Energy Savings

Industry faces the challenges of Net Zero targets and rising energy costs. Expert analysis of data from digitally connected motors and drives can identify the best potential ones to boost energy efficiency. This is where we can monitor and evaluate data in ways that were never possible before. This keynote will discuss how a digital powertrain energy appraisal has a lot to offer industrial companies as they take action towards Net Zero targets and look for ways to cut energy costs. Identify the best opportunities that yield great returns with just small improvements across entire fleets of motors.

Dmitri Belotchkine & Ari Rajamäki

Technical Director, Europe | Product Manager, Cybersecurity, Valmet, TXOne Networks
ICS Security: How to Navigate Successfully in a Multi-Vendor and Multi-Site World

Production and process industry digitalization and connectivity to IT services and cloud introduce new threats in OT. New connections and smart IoT devices tear down the ICS isolation myth. Vendors must be prepared and support OT asset owners to manage the risks of possible consequences. When new IoT assets and connectivity are added to production networks, new countermeasure requirements must be considered. Valmet is developing and deploying secure ICS products and services using on-premise and cloud computing. The session introduces concerns and new OT countermeasure solutions responding to new threats and managing risks for production.

Ari is Product Manager for Cybersecurity in Valmet – a leading global developer and supplier of process technologies, automation and services for the pulp, paper and energy industries.  Ari works in the Automation Systems business line helping customers’ OT asset owners in risk management, countermeasure and threat monitoring implementation projects. He holds a Master of Engineering in Cybersecurity and GIAC GICSP & ISA IEC62443 certificates.
