Connectio, the new municipal platform that turns innovation opportunities into real projects

Connectio Barcelona is the new open innovation business platform of Barcelona Activa which connects innovation opportunities with companies that can offer solutions to social, environmental, and economic challenges.

If you are a company or an organisation with active innovation opportunities, the Connectio platform puts you in touch with SMEs and start-ups that help you incorporate innovation quickly.

If you are an SME or start-up and have developed an innovative product, service or technology, Connectio helps you connect with companies that have active innovation opportunities so that you can accelerate the market access of your solutions.

If you are an entity linked to the business ecosystem, you can also form part and contribute to the promotion of innovation in the city of Barcelona.

The first four business challenges presented at Connectio were:

  • The Pharmacist Reig Jofre: How we can promote the sustainable mobility of the company’s employees.
  • MB92: How we can calculate the carbon footprint of a yacht repair project with the aim of streamlining the calculation process and automating it.
  • Aigües de Barcelona: How we can promote the sustainability of the personal habits of workers.
  • Suara: How we can improve the lives of people who have to look after others to make them more independent, from a wellness perspective.

The companies have already received proposals from different start-ups and up to 17 connections have been created. Subsequently, those that fit each case better will be analysed and selected.

The platform connects all types of companies, as well as intermediary agents who boost innovation, giving the tool greater impact. In addition, it allows the acceleration of innovation in various sectors and fosters the agility and flexibility of companies when incorporating new solutions and strategies.

Barcelona Activa, which every year accompanies and advises around 12,000 start-ups and SMEs, is starting to redirect them to Connectio so that they can connect and offer their services to other companies, thus accelerating the market arrival of their products or services.

The platform allows connection opportunities to be COMMUNICATED and AGGREGATED based on open innovation in a transparent and effective way, CONNECTING providers and demanders so that the open innovation opportunity becomes a cooperation project and ACCOMPANYING providers and demanders in the resolution process and formulation of innovation opportunities.

Connectio aims to be a neutral meeting point for companies and organisations that want to work through open innovation in Barcelona, it is for this reason that innovation opportunities launched by third parties will soon also be included the Connectio platform, thus making the tool a benchmark space within the city’s innovative ecosystem.

If you have innovation opportunities or solutions, or are part of the ecosystem and want to be part of Connectio, visit stand C341 of Barcelona Activa in Pavilion 4 of the IoT Trade Fair 2023 and we will inform you!

Join Connectio, join open innovation!
