The IoT Solutions Awards recognize the most innovative and impactful projects that have been developed over the course of the year. The 2nd edition of the awards ceremony will take place October 4th at “MNAC – National Art Museum of Catalonia”, Barcelona. See the list of 2017 Nominations including Industry Award, Innovative Technology Award, Business Transformation Award and Testbed Award, below!

  • INDUSTRY AWARD

‘Wireless batteryless self-powered maintenance-free compressor monitor platform’

We monitor a compressor vibration using as power source a steam pipe. This heat is converted into electricity that it’s store in a super-cap. It powers our IOT device based on a System on Chip that integrates analog&digital, memory and a cortex M3 CPU.

Name of client running the IoT solution: REFINERÍA REPSOL PUERTOLLANO

Intel‘Intel IoT Based Bosch Micro Climate Monitoring System’

An environmental monitoring solution that Intel has built along with close collaboration with Bosch for smart cities, industries, commercial/enterprise, residential application. It combines Intel IoT Gateway Technology with high accuracy gas sensors (COx, NOx, SO2, O3), PM sensors, environmental (temp, RH, noise, light, sound) in a rugged and temper proof enclosure designed for outdoor use.

Name of client running the IoT solution: Bosch

    ‘Mocana IoT Security Platform’

Mocana’s IoT Security Platform is a comprehensive software solution to secure the Internet of Things and industrial control systems. Unlike other offerings, Mocana’s solution secures endpoints, gateways and clouds. Our embedded security approach has been optimized to fit on CPU and memory constrained devices.

Name of client running the IoT solution: Mocana
  • INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY AWARD

    ABHIRAJ GUPTA

‘Real Time Wound Segmentation, Analysis and Management App for Handheld Devices’

It is a complete real time mobile-based wound analytics, monitoring and management system that assesses the wound healing process based on the images captured with a smart phone. It also automates documentation for wounds. The analysis is done by running optimised Image processing algorithms on wound photos taken with a smartphone camera.

‘Real-time information on parking occupancy and duration with no additional infrastructure’

Parquery’s smart parking solution uses any image from any already-installed cameras to provide real-time information to parking managers and end-users alike. As an example, more than 420 parking spots are monitored by only 2 basic cameras (webcam) in Vevey (Switzerland). This successful application is made possible via innovative computer vision and deep learning algorithms, running on a cloud.

Name of client running the IoT solution: City of Vevey, Switzerland
  • BUSINESS TRANSFORMATION AWARD

‘Industrial IoT transformation builds new revenue streams with Connected Asset Management’

Accenture’s Connected Asset Management solution on Microsoft Azure IoT allowed Biesse to access real-time data from the field agents installed on machines in client’s factories. Through in-depth analytics and predictive maintenance based on legacy knowledge, Biesse will be able to reduce labor costs, and improve customer service, expanding their after-market business with new revenue streams.

Name of client running the IoT solution: Biesse Group

‘ECARTAGS- connecting online with offline pricing’

Car dealers can sympathize with the amount of labor that goes into changing paper tags on a daily basis. To compete with aggressive pricing strategies online, the digital tags solve a huge issue.
A dealership porter can install the tag on a vehicle by simply scanning both the VIN & the tag with a smartphone. Instantly the tag synchronizes to the vehicle & the price begins updating automatically.

Name of client running the IoT solution: Sonic Auto Dealer

‘Geotab IoT Fleet Solution: Telematics for Socioeconomic Value’

Geotab’s open platform IoT fleet solution transforms vehicle data into actionable insights for businesses and society to make significant improvements in the areas of: driver safety, compliance, maintenance, fuel efficiency, productivity and carbon emission. Geotab’s telematics device connects to a web-based platform with numerous third-party add-ins and add-ons are available via a Marketplace.

  • TESTBED AWARD

‘Time Sensitive Networks for Flexible Manufacturing’

Our Goal is to display the value and readiness of Time-Sensitive Networks (new IEEE standards) supporting real-time control & synchronization Our Vision is to enable Flexible Manufacturing for Industrial IoT and Industrie 4.0 through deployment of open, standard deterministic networks in production facilities.

    ‘Connecting over seas’

The “Connecting over seas” demo is actually a real project in the market that takes one step further. Vodafone together with Hiruteknova, TST and Rodman will show a real connected boat powered by NB-IoT. The solution provides real-time information about the battery, water leaks and danger of sinking, temperature or if there is someone on the boat among other things. Come and see it!

    ‘Connected Workforce Safety and Operations’

The testbed demonstrates how industrial IoT technologies can be employed to improve worker safety and worker well-being, while facilitating safety compliance and enabling safe work operations. The testbed solution accomplishes this by employing smart wearables and infrastructure, cognitive learning abilities, and 24×7 edge connectivity with operations command centers and emergency response teams.
